Structural Aerospace Fittings Machined to Drawing

AeroCNCParts machines structural aerospace fittings: seat-track, hinge, attach, partition and tie-rod end fittings that join parts and carry load. They are load-bearing parts, not the tube and hose connectors of fuel, hydraulic or pneumatic lines.

We make each fitting to your drawing, from first article through low-volume and repeat batches, with FAI, CMM and material reports on request. Fittings belong to our structural support components family.

Materials for aerospace fittings

Stress-relieved plate limits distortion; Ti-6Al-4V suits high loads and carbon-fiber contact. See titanium fittings and aerospace aluminum.

Surface Finishes

All finishes are applied per the drawing's callout, and parts ship finished to your specification.

  • Chem film (MIL-DTL-5541): chromate conversion coating on aluminum fittings.
  • Anodizing (MIL-A-8625 Type II or Type III): on aluminum fittings.
  • Passivation (AMS 2700): on stainless steel fittings.
  • Shot peening (AMS 2430): applied where the drawing requires it.
Applications

Structural aerospace fittings we machine

Every type is machined to your drawing. There is no catalog, so specials that catalog suppliers do not stock are made the same way.

  • Seat-track fittings

Lock seat legs and monuments to the floor track.

  • Hinge and attach fittings

Lugs and clevises that pivot or pin parts to structure: hinge blocks.

  • Cabin partition fittings

Anchor and align partitions and dividers; see our cabin partition fittings.

  • Tie-rod end fittings

Connect tie rods to monuments, bins and equipment racks.

  • Equipment mounting fittings

Rigid platforms for avionics and sensors: see equipment mount blocks.

Capabilities

Critical features of aircraft fittings

Aircraft fittings sit where a moving or removable assembly meets the structure: seat tracks, monuments, bins, partitions and avionics racks. The drawing controls lug, clevis and bushing bores, the hole pattern and bearing faces.

We check bores with bore gauges and CMM, true position per ASME Y14.5 and, where specified, UNJ threads (AS8879) with thread gauges. Multi-face fittings are cut with 5-axis machining of fittings, sharing one setup and one datum scheme.

Process & Quality

DFM review: datums, load paths and cost-driving features checked before we cut.
CAM and fixturing: toolpaths planned so bores and faces share one datum scheme.
In-process checks: probing and sampling keep critical features on target.
First article and CMM: FAI and CMM reports supplied on request.
Traceability: heat or lot numbers and finishing records tied to each batch.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers on fitting types, AN and SAE fittings, materials, fluid fittings and the documents supplied with aircraft fittings.

What are the different types of aircraft fittings?
Structural fittings (seat-track, hinge and attach, partition and tie-rod end fittings) join parts and transfer loads. Fluid-line fittings (flared, flareless, boss ports, adapters) connect tubes and hoses; "airline fittings" usually means this second group.
What is an SAE / AN fitting?
An AN fitting is a fluid-line fitting from the Army-Navy standard series, with a 37° flare and class 3A/3B threads. "SAE fitting" covers several SAE International standards: 37° flare fittings to SAE J514 look similar but use looser class 2A/2B threads, and 45° flare fittings do not mate with AN parts, so follow the drawing's callout.
Do you make catalog fittings?
No. We machine fittings to your drawing, including specials and low volumes that catalog suppliers do not stock.
Which materials do you use for structural fittings?
Stress-relieved 7075 and 7050 aluminum, 2024, titanium Ti-6Al-4V and 17-4PH / 15-5PH stainless steel, with mill certificates on request.
Do you also machine fluid fittings?
Custom adapters and special ports can be machined to your drawing.
What documents come with the parts?
On request, we supply the documents your program needs: a Certificate of Conformance, material certificates, an FAI or inspection report and lot traceability records. Parts are made under an ISO 9001-certified quality system.

Send your drawing and 3D model for a quote: an engineer reviews it before machining, NDAs are signed on request, and repeat batches follow the same inspection plan.
